Elite Gate Parts & Welding in Tarzana: What to Know First

We handle Elite gate parts and on-site welding throughout Tarzana, and most repairs are finished the same day we show up. A typical Elite hinge or weld repair runs between $180 and $450, and you’ll get an exact number in writing before any work begins. No surprises at the door, no “well, it turned out to be more than we thought.”

Call (818) 514-7606

This page is for Tarzana homeowners who own an Elite gate, know what they’ve got, and want someone who can actually fix it rather than talk them into a new gate they don’t need. We’ve been at this since 2001, and Elite is one of the nine brands Hal Gatewood’s crew works on regularly. If you’ve got a sagging panel, a torn hinge, or a gate that grinds against the post, call (818) 514-7606 and a live person picks up.

How Elite Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Elite SL3000 and SL3000-UL slide gates tear the rear roller bracket welds. The gate is heavy and the bracket takes the full weight every time it cycles. We see the weld crack at the top edge where the bracket meets the frame. The factory sent it out light, and Tarzana’s dry heat does the steel no favors over a decade. We weld the bracket solid and add a gusset it should have had from the start.
  • Elite CSW200 swing arms bend the gate’s lower hinge tab. The opener pushes harder than the original tab was built for, and once that tab flexes, the gate drops half an inch and starts dragging. You might hear it scrape before you see the sag. We cut the fatigued tab off, weld a heavier one in its place, and realign the gate so the motor stops fighting itself.
  • Elite Mirage 2000 gates (mostly older installs) pull the top hinge bolts out of the post. The bolts are fine and the post is usually fine too. What fails is the thin wall of the original post sleeve. Over time the bolts elongate the holes, the gate loosens, and the hinge starts chewing. We weld the hinge plate directly to the post, or sleeve the post and remount it fresh, depending on what the steel will take.
  • Elite’s box-frame aluminum gates crack at the mitered corners where the pickets meet the top rail. It’s not the weld that fails. It’s the adjacent metal that fatigues from repeated flexing. Tarzana winds off the 101 corridor don’t help. If we weld it as-is, it’ll crack again six inches over. The fix is a backing plate welded inside the rail to spread the load, then the cosmetic weld on top.
  • Elite gate latches and locks wear out faster than the gate itself. The spring-loaded thumb latch on a lot of Elite walk gates loses tension after five or six years of kids slamming it. If the strike plate is the problem, that’s a parts swap and ten minutes. If the latch pocket in the gate frame is wallowed out, we weld in a new strike and it’s tighter than when it was hung.

Our Elite Gate Parts & Welding Process

  1. 1
You call (818) 514-7606. A live person answers, day or night. You tell us what the gate is doing and what brand it is. We’ll ask for a photo if you can text one, because it helps us bring the right parts on the first trip.
  2. 2
We show up and look at the whole gate, not just the symptom. A torn hinge is usually the last thing to fail after months of a post shifting or a roller wearing flat. We find the first thing first.
  3. 3
We lay out your options in plain English. OEM Elite part, quality aftermarket equivalent, or a welded repair that makes the original part unnecessary. We’ll tell you which we’d put on our own gate and why. The price is agreed before we pick up a tool.
  4. 4
The repair happens in your driveway. We weld on site, so your gate never leaves. If it’s a parts swap, we do it standing right there. If it needs welding, we grind it clean, weld it, and paint it so it doesn’t rust up in Tarzana’s dry season.
  5. 5
We test the gate the way a gate actually gets used. We cycle it, slam it once, lean on the gate to check for flex. If it’s got an opener, we run the full stroke and watch for bind, creep, and slow spots.
  6. 6
You get the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If anything we touched fails inside 90 days, one call and we’re back at no charge. Hal won’t argue with you about it.

What Elite Gate Parts & Welding Costs in Tarzana

Here’s what we charge for the common Elite jobs, right now, in Tarzana. You’ll get a firm quote before work begins, not an estimate that doubles at the invoice.

  • Hinge replacement (welded, per hinge): $120-$220
  • Weld repair on a cracked frame or torn bracket: $180-$320
  • Post replacement or post sleeve repair (steel, including concrete work): $280-$600
  • Gate roller bracket re-weld and gusset: $140-$240
  • Latch and lock replacement (Elite hardware or equivalent): $85-$180
  • Full gate realignment plus weld reinforcement: $220-$450

What moves the price is the condition of the surrounding steel, how much clean-up of old bad work we’re undoing, and whether we need to bring a second person for safety on a heavy gate. Estimates are free, and we honor the quote we hand you. Quotes are free and we stick to the number we give you. Call (818) 514-7606 and we’ll come take a look.

Why Tarzana Homeowners Call Gatewood Fence & Gate for Elite Work

We’ve been fixing gates in Tarzana since 2001, and most of our customers live within a few miles of Ventura Boulevard. You’ll see the same crew on every visit, not a different subcontractor every time. Every job carries the 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing, and if it’s not right, Hal comes back and makes it right without a runaround. We also work on LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, Ghost Controls, and DoorKing, so if your Elite gate shares a system with another brand’s opener, we handle the whole thing in one visit. If this is a safety concern, whether it’s a welded failure or a heavy gate off its track, we treat it as a priority. We’re an independent Elite service provider, which means we answer to you and the gate, not to a corporate phone tree.
